On 27 August 2022, the ferry "C.T.M.A. VACANCIER", while anchored, reported being struck by the fishing vessel "SÉBASTIEN M." in the St. Lawrence River off Matane, QC. After inspecting for damage, both vessels continued on their voyage.

On 22 January 2019, the passenger vessel “C.T.M.A. VACANCIER” sustained a starboard main engine failure, caused by a malfunction of the governor, 1.5 nautical miles NW of Matane, QC. Due to the ice conditions, the vessel was unable to reach Matane on its remaining engine. The crew effected repairs, the ice conditions improved, and the vessel was able to berth in Matane 9 hours later.

The vessel continued its voyage using the port side main engine while the starboard engine was stopped for a short time for repairs.

On 28 March 2015, the passenger vessel "C.T.M.A. VACANCIER" reported a crack in its hull 25.5 nautical miles SSE off Cap-aux-Meules, QC. The vessel's crew carried out temporay repairs and the vessel escorted by the Canadian Coast Guard vessel "TERRY FOX" towards Cap-aux-Meules, QC.

On 04 February 2015, the roll-on/roll-off passenger vessel "C.T.M.A. VACANCIER" sustained a fire in the exhaust system of its starboard main engine while transiting between Cap-aux-Meules, QC and Souris, PEI. The fire was extinguished by the crew.

About This Vessel
MS C.T.M.A. Vacancier was a car/passenger ferry operated by Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien (CTMA) on their Montreal–Cap-aux-Meules service. She was built in 1973 by the J.J. Sietas Schiffswerft in Hamburg, West Germany as Aurella for SF Line for use on Viking Line traffic. Between 1982 and 1998 she sailed as Saint Patrick II, between 1998 and 2000 as Egnatia II, in 2000 as Ville de Séte and between 2001 and 2002 as City of Cork, before being sold to CTMA. In January 2024 she was renamed Ancier to be prepared for scrapping.
