This ship has no verified emissions report. We estimate a band E from its segment, size and age (84% confidence).

Estimate, not a reported figure. Within one band 95% of the time on reported peers.

An older hull, stopped, whose last broadcast is itself no longer fresh — a cautious lay-up proxy.

Hull age

Read from the single most-recent AIS broadcast we hold for this hull — we keep no position history, so this is a point-in-time posture, not a dwell inference. “Likely laid up” is a cautious proxy (an old hull, stopped, with a non-fresh fix), not a confirmed lay-up. Derived in-house from our own AIS feed; weight it by the broadcast age above.

Multiple adverse factors, or a hard ship-specific signal, lift this hull above the fleet norm.

A coverage-weighted blend of the 2 components we could read for this hull — the weights renormalise over only the components present, so a thin read is never inflated and a hull is never credited a “safe 0” for a signal it has no row for. This headline is flagged low-confidence (a thin or structural-only read) and should not be treated as a verdict. Higher means riskier. Derived in-house from government-open port-State-control, flag, sanctions and our own vessel data; weight it by the coverage above.

Design draught looks implausible for this class and size — the figures above are anchored to it, so treat them with extra caution.

Estimate only — modelled from deadweight (deadweight only) using a first-principles hydrostatic model, not measured hydrostatic tables. The design draught it is anchored to is unreliable across the fleet.

Overview

About This Vessel

MV Kalia (formerly the MV Montauk) is a small double-hulled oil tanker managed by Adminros Shipmanagement Company, Ltd. and registered under the flag of Cyprus. The 109-meter-long ship has a nominal crew of 13 and can carry 30,000 barrels (4,770 m3) of oil. While known as the MV Montauk, the ship was owned by the American company Sealift Incorporated, and sailed under long-term charter to the United States Military Sealift Command where it transported oil for the U.S. Department of Defense. In 2015 it was renamed Alia.
