Intelligence
Risk & Sustainability
An independent cross-check of the estimate above for Bulker (segment · size · age · market).
Estimate from $/dwt of similar-size, similar-age ships sold in the last 24 months. Indicative, not a certified valuation.
This ship has no verified emissions report. We estimate a band C from its segment, size and age (70% confidence).
Estimate, not a reported figure. Within one band 95% of the time on reported peers.

Safety Record
- TOTAL FAILURE OF ANY MACHINERY OR TECHNICAL SYSTEMMinorSep 9, 2023Rose Point, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC)
On 09 September 2023, the bulk carrier "ANDROMEDA" reported having sustained a total failure of its engine in Dixon Entrance, BC. The crew effected repairs while the vessel drifted and then proceeded to Brown Passage, BC for pilot boarding. Once the pilot was aboard, the vessel sustained a total loss of propulsion. The tug "SEASPAN HARRIER" towed the vessel to an anchorage in Chatham Sound, BC while assisted by the Canadian Coast Guard Ship "ATLANTIC RAVEN" and the tugs "SEASPAN KESTREL" and "SAAM JAMES POINT". The vessel anchored and the crew effected repairs.
- RISK OF GROUNDINGMinorJan 8, 2021Port Edward, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC)
On 08 January 2021, the bulk carrier "ANDROMEDA", with 20 people on board, was observed dragging anchor in Chatham Sound, BC. A pilot was required to reposition the vessel.
- TOTAL FAILURE OF ANY MACHINERY OR TECHNICAL SYSTEMMinorMay 18, 2016Triple Island, BC, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC)
On 18 May 2016, the bulk carrier "ANDROMEDA", with 23 people on board and under the conduct of a pilot, reported a blackout due to generator fuel issues at Triple Island, BC. The vessel anchored at Anchorage 16, Prince Rupert, BC to have repairs carried out.
Recorded marine occurrences naming this vessel.
Operational Status
Activity
Stopped, anchored or moored on its latest broadcast — parked, not necessarily withdrawn.
Read from the single most-recent AIS broadcast we hold for this hull — we keep no position history, so this is a point-in-time posture, not a dwell inference. Derived in-house from our own AIS feed; weight it by the broadcast age above.
Composite Risk
Risk Score
Multiple adverse factors, or a hard ship-specific signal, lift this hull above the fleet norm.
A coverage-weighted blend of the 2 components we could read for this hull — the weights renormalise over only the components present, so a thin read is never inflated and a hull is never credited a “safe 0” for a signal it has no row for. This headline is flagged low-confidence (a thin or structural-only read) and should not be treated as a verdict. Higher means riskier. Derived in-house from government-open port-State-control, flag, sanctions and our own vessel data; weight it by the coverage above.
Estimated
Capacity & Classification
Bulker · summer draught 12.5 m · 62.7 t per cm immersion
Estimate only — modelled from deadweight (deadweight regression) using a first-principles hydrostatic model, not measured hydrostatic tables. The design draught it is anchored to is unreliable across the fleet.
density DWT/GT=1.75 is consistent with declared bulker
Declared type is consistent with the class implied by the vessel’s size signals. Inferred via our shared size-based classifier.
