    On 09 August 2025, the bulk carrier "CHESTNUT", while under the conduct of a pilot, reported having experienced a close quarters situation with the pleasure craft QC470473 while transiting in the St. Lawrence River off Verchères, QC. The pleasure craft was towing a PWC with 2 people on board in the navigation channel. The 2 people were seen entering the water when then PWC capsized and were retrieved by the pleasure craft. The bulk carrier had to perform an evasive maneuver.
